„Ay Kash / If Only” to hybrydowe przedstawienie łączące akcję na żywo na scenie i sfilmowaną „interakcję” z jedenastoma młodymi kobietami z Afganistanu. Ich prawdziwe tożsamości pozostaną ukryte – inaczej byłoby to zbyt niebezpieczne. To, co chcą powiedzieć, zostanie ożywione w poetyckiej przestrzeni. A chcą opowiedzieć wiele rzeczy: historię swojego kraju z ich perspektywy, ich osobiste doświadczenia od czasu przejęcia władzy przez talibów w 2021 roku, historie ich matek i babć, nadzieje i marzenia na przyszłość. To wszystko i więcej ożyje za pomocą pieśni, teatru przedmiotu, opowiadania i sztucznej inteligencji. Występ obejmuje także animacje zaprojektowane w celu ochrony tożsamości jedenastu młodych kobiet przez berlińską artystkę Annę Benner.

‘Ay Kash / If Only’ is a hybrid performance combining live action on stage and filmed ‘interaction’ with eleven young women from Afghanistan. Their true identities will remain hidden – otherwise it would be too dangerous. What they want to say will be brought to life in a poetic space. And they want to tell many things: the history of their country from their perspective, their personal experiences since the Taliban took over in 2021, the stories of their mothers and grandmothers, their hopes and dreams for the future. All this and more will come to life through song, object theatre, storytelling and artificial intelligence. The performance also includes animations designed to protect the identity of the eleven young women by Berlin-based artist Anna Benner.
