Czas Darowany – wystawa Przemysława F. Karwowskiego
Przemysław Karwowski uprawia twórczość w zakresie malarstwa, plakatu, scenografii, projektowania graficznego i fotografii. Swoje malarstwo prezentował w 34 wystawach indywidualnych i na ponad 50 wystawach zbiorowych. Ponadto brał udział w wielu wystawach plakatu, scenografii i fotografii. W latach 1987-2021 był scenografem Teatru Lalki i Aktora w Łomży. Autor 66 scenografii w teatrach lalek w kraju i za granicą. Twórca większości plakatów festiwalowych i do spektakli łomżyńskiego teatru, z którym nadal współpracuje. W latach 1999-2021 prowadził łomżyńską Galerię Pod Arkadami. W okresie tym podczas kolejnych edycji MFT WALIZKA, galeria stała się miejscem prezentacji wielu twórców teatralnych.
„Czas Darowany” to autorska prezentacja najnowszych obrazów na deskach oraz lalek, w większości drewnianych, z wybranych spektakli. Wystawa podkreśla szczególne zamiłowanie autora do drewna użytego tak w scenografii jak i w malarstwie, co uwidacznia przenikanie się doświadczeń malarskich w scenografii i odwrotnie. Tytuł wystawy jest odniesieniem do całego okresu pracy w teatrze, ale też nawiązuje do możliwości skupienia się na twórczości głównie malarskiej podczas pandemii. Dodatkowym znaczeniem tytułu jest fakt użycia jako podobrazi starych desek. Były one kiedyś drzwiami, meblami, a teraz autor podarował im nowy czas jako obrazom.
Przemysław Karwowski deals in the field of painting, photography and poster, stage and graphic design. He presented his paintings at 34 individual exhibitions and over 50 group exhibitions. In addition, he took part in many poster, scenography and photography exhibitions. In the years 1987-2021 he was a stage designer at the Puppet and Actor Theatre in Łomża. An author of 66 stage designs in puppet theatres in Poland and abroad. He created the majority of posters for the festival and performances of the theatre in Łomża. Currently, he still works with the Łomża theatre. In the years 1999-2021 he ran the “Pod Arkadami” art gallery in Łomża. At that time, during numerous editions of the VALISE festival, the gallery became a place where many theatre artists would present their works.
“Gift Time” is the presentation of the author’s latest board paintings and puppets, mostly wooden, from selected performances. The exhibition highlights the author’s particular fondness for wood, used both in stage design and painting, which reveals painting experiences pervading into stage design and vice versa.
The title of the exhibition is a reference to the entire period the author worked in the theatre, but it also alludes to the possibility of concentrating mainly on painting during the pandemic. An additional meaning of the title is the fact that old planks of wood were used as canvas. They used to be doors, furniture, and now the author has given them new time as paintings.
