Concrete Temple Theatre to cieszący się międzynarodowym uznaniem zespół zajmujący się teatrem wizualnym opartym na improwizacji. Znany z przekraczania konwencjonalnych granic między scenografią a tekstem, CTT tworzy dzieła imponujące pod względem wizualnym, które stawiają mity i rytuały jako centralny punkt w dyskusji o aktualnych problemach społecznych. Od 2004 roku Concrete Temple Theatre prezentuje swoje dzieła nowojorskiej publiczności w uznanych placówkach eksperymentalnych i awangardowych, takich jak SoHo Playhouse, Barrow Street Theatre, HERE, Dixon Place i La MaMa.
„PACKRAT” to przepiękne przedstawienie lalkowe osadzone w głębi pustyni Sagebrush, zgłębiające relacje między człowiekiem a światem przyrody. Gra lalek, projekcje wizualne i oryginalna muzyka w elegancki sposób splatają się, tworząc wielowymiarowy przekaz i budując emocje. Głównym bohaterem historii jest Bud, osobliwy gryzoń z zamiłowaniem do zbierania przedmiotów należących do ludzi. Kiedy wyrzucony niedopałek papierosa wywołuje pożar w dolinie, pozostałe zwierzęta uciekają, aby ratować swoje życie, a Bud, który ze względu na swoje zbieractwo już wcześniej był przez nie traktowany jak wyrzutek, zostaje obarczony winą za katastrofy spowodowane przez ludzi. Wyrzucony ze społeczności gryzoń musi wyruszyć samotnie w środek szalejącego pożaru, aby zmierzyć się z zagrożeniami wywołanymi przez ludzi oraz naturę.

Concrete Temple Theatre is an internationally acclaimed devised visual-theatre company. Known for defying conventional boundaries between design and text, CTT creates visually striking works that bring myth and ritual back to the center of dialogue in order to confront the prevailing social issues of our times. Since 2004 Concrete Temple Theatre has presented their work for NYC audiences at such venerable Off-Broadway and avant garde venues as SoHo Playhouse, Barrow Street Theatre, HERE, Dixon Place, and La MaMa.
Set deep in the Sagebrush Desert, „PACKRAT” is a visually stunning puppet-forward play that contemplates humanity’s relationship with the natural world. Puppetry, projections and an original score elegantly come together to create many layers of meaning and emotions. At the center of the action is Bud, a peculiar rodent with a penchant for hoarding humankind’s goods. When a discarded cigar sparks a wildfire, the animals in Bud’s valley flee for their lives. Already an outcast among the desert animals for his hoarding instincts, he gets blamed for the human-made disasters infiltrating their lives. When they ban him from the community, Bud must set out alone amidst a raging fire, to confront human-made dangers and a few natural ones.
